For the Canada Research Chair in Performance and Culture, RedGreenBlue designed and built a multi-featured site to provide theatre and drama research resources to students and academics of varied expertise. The site includes an interactive chronology that integrates descriptive text outlining developments in the world of theatre and contextualizes them with headlines and supplementary information. Chronological entries are accompanied by images and are fully indexed and searchable. The chronology encourages a wide variety of methods of exploration.
To facilitate frequent updates to the chronology by a team of academics and graduate students located around the country, RedGreenBlue built a content management system that allows users to edit or update virtually all content, build links between pages, upload images, and manage the searchability of the database. Links between chronology and supplementary information pages are keyed to indexed terms, allowing automatic site-wide activation of page linkages. Web pages are approved and published from the development site to the live site with just a few clicks — dramatically reducing the cost of ongoing content development.
Additionally, RedGreenBlue developed the parent site that houses discussion forums, image collections, video collections, essays, and more. RedGreenBlue continues to play a key role in the formatting and development of dynamic new content for the CRC site.
